Yesterday Tecnosaúde organized a webinar on HIV in times of pandemic.
In a time of pandemic, when the world has undergone changes in all sectors, we can say that the health sector was the one that suffered the most changes. Not forgetting the fraction of users who are annually diagnosed with HIV, this topic was dedicated to the impacts that the pandemic had on the diagnosis of HIV.
HIV is a disease that affects about 38 million people, and in 2019 alone, approximately 1.7 million people contracted this disease.
Today, it is known that the COVID-19 pandemic has aggravated the underdiagnosis of these patients and it is estimated that thousands of lives are at risk, not only due to the greater difficulty in diagnosing, but also due to the lower access to treatment and the intervention capacity of the patients. AIDS programs around the world.
Aware of these data and facts, Quilaban, with the organization of Tecnosaúde, organized a webinar with the theme "HIV and COVID-19 - Impacts of the pandemic on HIV diagnosis" with the aim of clarifying health professionals for the impact that pandemic had in this pathology that so many people affect worldwide.
To this end, we counted on the presence of speakers from three different countries, with representation from Angola, Cape Verde and Guinea-Bissau and with strong public support, with more than 216 registrations and 192 views less than 24 hours after the live.
