COVID-19 | Brief Update

Sars-CoV-19 continues to cause deaths and damage in the world, but Angola has been in good control.

The pandemic state was decreed about three months ago, where Angola has already gone through a state of emergency, where many restrictions have been implemented in the country. Currently, the country has been in a state of calamity for two weeks.

The current panorama of the COVID-19 pandemic continues to receive worldwide attention.

With more than seven million confirmed cases worldwide, this enemy that is spreading silently and that has already killed more than 400 thousand people remains without a solution in sight, so prevention is the best weapon that each person can have to protect against this virus.

Angola currently registers 92 positive cases and 4 deaths, with 24 cases already recovered, being one of the countries with the lowest number of cases. In May, the country changed from a state of emergency to a state of calamity, where there were some changes, especially in the freedom of citizens. However, some restrictions on public and private services functioning, as well as the sanitary fence in Luanda, will continue until at least today, 9 June. In the context of the public calamity situation, specific rules were also established for educational establishments, relating to vocational training centers, competitions and sports training, trade in goods and services in general, restaurants and the like.

Angola continues with a slow progression in the number of cases and with high prevention, however, social distance recommendations and the insistence of all hygiene measures, such as hand washing and wearing a mask, remain priority for control of the virus in the country.

Tecnosaúde remains vigilant in the current scenario.
