The word pediatrics comes from the Greek pedos = child and iatros = medicine. This specialty appeared in the late 19th century, however, throughout history, doctors have already offered care to people of all ages, including children.
This specialty, in a country where the birth rate is so high, it is crucial to be valued and recognized, as it plays a fundamental role in society, in providing healthcare to the youngest.
Thus, the College of Pediatrics, for its third session of its I Cycle of Webinars, decided to tell its story, the History of Pediatrics in Angola.
With the moderation of Dr. Liliana Aragão and with the speaker, Dr. Luis Bernardino, this session had more than 184 registrations and 187 views, especially from the medical class that did not want to miss this very accentuated history in our country.
