In the pharmaceutical sector, the truth is that every day pharmacists and pharmacy technicians work with all their tools to meet the needs of those who need it most and with COVID-19, those needs have increased.

In an interview with Dr. Zenaida Macanga, MS Lubango pharmacy Technical Director, in Lubango province, Tecnosaúde learned how this province is dealing with the pandemic.

The answer was the best that we could hear, since although there are still no positive cases, the whole province is in social isolation and complying with preventive measures. From public transport (for example, motorcycles can only travel with one person) to open establishments.

When the question is addressed to the pharmacy that she manages, MS Lubango, Dr. Zenaida confirmed to us that they are using acrylic protectors at customer service counters, using alcohol gel for disinfecting hands and working in partnership with public health for disinfecting the pharmacy.

As a province, the supply of medicines is reduced and, with the pandemic, the initial scenario would have predicted an aggravation, however the same didn’t happen. On the other hand, “prices skyrocketed initially” said Dr. Zenaida. Today, everything is more stabilized.



In this new experience, in which everyone finds new ways for growth and survival, managing the demands of COVID-19, the most important thing is to adapt the way of working.
